SANDBANK HOLIDAYS
Sandbank Holidays offers the perfect self catering Cornish retreat for those wanting to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Our spacious holiday accommodation is conveniently located in St. Ives Bay and a very short distance from the harbour town of Hayle.
Our guests can enjoy being nestled in among Gwithian Towans, a range of sand dunes that is an official area of wildlife conservation. The dunes are the perfect place for walking your dog, so it's handy that we are a dog friendly park! St. Ives Bay is famous for it's long stretches of golden sand and the nearest beach is just a few minutes walk from Sandbank Holidays. The Southwest Coastal Path is also a short distance from us and is the perfect way to see the rugged coastline the county is famous for.
Visitors have the use of a free car park, a commodity that is rarer than you would imagine in Cornwall, as well as access to a large communal garden with areas for sitting and relaxing in the sun. This impeccably presented garden is also home to a children's play area with swings and a sandpit containing a wooden playhouse and toys.
As a self catering holiday park we do not have food, drink or entertainment available on site. This ensures that Sandbank Holidays provides a relaxing holiday experience for all our guests. For those looking for something a bit more energetic, there are a number of excellent local pubs within walking distance plus the town of St. Ives, with its exciting nightlife, just 8 miles away.

Hayle And St. Ives Bay
The nearest town of Hayle is just two miles away and has all you need to stock up on groceries and other essentials with their being several supermarkets in the town. If you would rather eat out then you are spoilt for choice with award winning fish and chips, a great bar/bistro, Indian takeaway, fabulous little Italian and a delightful ice cream parlour all on the door step.
Just a couple of miles down the road there is the Red River Inn, a local pub for a night of chatting over great ales, a good selection of wines and a traditional hearty pub menu. Also a few minutes up the road is the Rockpool Bistro serving excellent sea food and a great Sunday roast. If that's not enough, the nearby village of Connor Downs has Trevaskis Farm, a great working farm where you can get great food but also feed the baby animals and pick fruit in the nearby fields. The town of Hayle also has some great pubs, our favourite being the Cornish Arms with a decent menu and friendly atmosphere. For those catering to young children, Brewers Fayre offers a family friendly atmosphere with an indoor play area to keep the little ones amused. There's also a McDonald's next door should you fancy a quick takeaway. |
From Sandbank you can head out on foot or for a short drive to all the beautiful countryside and coast that Cornwall has to offer. Between the Hayle Estuary to Godrevy you can stroll across three miles of golden beaches, three stretches of Towans and then head onto the cliff walk all the way to Portreath. Specialist bird watching spots and nature reserves are dotted along this wonderful coastal hike.
Directly across the bay is the famous town of St Ives with plenty of evening entertainment and exquisite dining catering to all tastes. There are art galleries aplenty, along with many quirky shops, that can take a full day to fully explore and appreciate. All of Cornwall’s attractions are no more than a forty minute drive away and include: the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Land’s End, Tate St Ives, Hall for Cornwall, Minack Theatre and St Michael’s Mount. Many Cornish coastal towns offer gastro food destinations. Watergate Bay with Jamie Oliver’s 15, Rock boasts Nathan Outlaw and Padstow showcases Rick Stein’s famous seafood restaurant and fish bar. Truro, Cornwall's only city, has all the shops you would expect plus many more place to eat and drink. |
